Abstract

Purpose: The performance of organizations depends on the factor of innovation capability. Organizations with innovation capability mostly compete effectively in the evolving market. Therefore, this research aims to explore the effect of engineering cross-cultural collaboration, mechanical knowledge networks, digital knowledge infrastructure, and leadership support on enhancing innovation capability. Design/ method/ approach: Quantitative and qualitative research methods are used in this research. Interviews were conducted with 25 respondents and quantitative data were collected from 280 respondents. Quantitative data were analyze using One-Way ANOVA through SPSS. Qualitative data were analyze using thematic analysis supported by a three-stage coding technique open, axial, and selective coding adapted from grounded theory principles. Findings: The results from both quantitative and qualitative approaches confirm that mechanical knowledge network is an important predictor of Innovation capability. Moreover, engineering cross-cultural collaboration, digital knowledge infrastructure, and leadership support also affect innovation capability. Originality: The originality of the paper lies in introducing mechanical knowledge network as an important factor to enhance innovation capability. This study used quantitative and qualitative approaches simultaneously to ensure the role of cross-cultural collaboration, mechanical knowledge networks, digital knowledge infrastructure, and leadership support in enhancing innovation capability.
